Are you passionate about supporting children and young people in residential care in Sheffield? We are looking for a dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to help provide high-quality, child-centred residential care for children and young people who deserve a safe, nurturing, and supportive home environment.

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering outstanding residential care for children and young people in Sheffield, working closely with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager to create a positive, stable, and caring environment where every young person can thrive.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to children and young people in residential care in Sheffield. You will lead shifts, support staff, and help maintain a high standard of care that meets the individual needs of every child and young person.

You will work in a child-centred way, building trusting relationships with children and young people, supporting them to feel heard, safe, and respected. You will help promote independence, resilience, and life skills while ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding and care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of high-quality residential care for children and young people in Sheffield.
  • Lead shifts and support the wider team to provide consistent, caring support to children and young people.
  • Ensure safeguarding, care planning, and daily recording are completed to a high standard.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people and help them develop confidence, independence, and resilience.
  • Contribute to a safe, homely, and welcoming environment in residential care.
  • Support the home manager in maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and quality standards.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone with experience in children and young people's residential care in Sheffield, who is passionate about making a difference.

You should have:

  • Experience working in children and young people's residential care.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
  • A child-centred, nurturing, and resilient approach.
  • The ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
