Summary
Role: Principal Construction Manager
Location: Manchester (Area 10) - with travel across Midlands / Areas 7 & 12
Rate: £450 - £500 per day (PAYE)
Hours: Monday to Friday - standard office hours (occasional night work required)
Duration: 6-10 months (potential for extension)
Our client, a leading infrastructure and highways contractor, is currently seeking a Principal Construction Manager to join them on major National Highways schemes across the Midlands and North.
As a Principal Construction Manager, your duties will include:
- Managing delivery of multiple highways schemes (£100k - £100m)
- Overseeing site teams and supply chain partners
- Ensuring works are delivered to programme, budget and quality standards
- Managing CDM documentation and health & safety compliance
- Liaising with clients and stakeholders, including National Highways
- Coordinating resources across multiple projects
The successful Principal Construction Manager must have:
- Valid National Highways Passport (essential)
- CSCS card (Black is preferred)
- Strong experience delivering highways projects
- Experience working on National Highways schemes
- Ability to manage multiple projects and travel as required
