Summary


Imaging Assistant - Ultrasound.

This is a rotational post with duties being at:

Hull Royal Infirmary, the Women's and Children's hospital, Castle Hill Hospital, the East Riding Hospital, Hornsea Cottage Hospital and the Alfred Bean Hospital in Driffield. This post will also involve rotation to the new Community Diagnostic Centre in Hull & at the Wilberforce Centre, Hull .

The hours are 37.5 working 8am-6pm over 4 shifts per week. This includes some weekend and bank holiday duties.

An opportunity has arisen for a full time imaging assistant to join the forward thinking ultrasound team of the Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

You will be working as a part of a friendly team of dedicated and hardworking sonographers and support workers within the ultrasound department of the Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

You will be required to rotate through Hull Royal Infirmary, the Women's and Children's Hospital, Castle hill hospital as well as various community sites. These are the East Riding Community hospital, The Wilberforce Centre, the Alfred bean Hospital in Driffield and occasionally, the Hornsea Cottage Hospital as well as the CDC in Hull city centre .





The imaging assistant role is primarily to help the sonographers and radiologists in delivering a quality service for all users of the ultrasound department.

The role has aspects of patient care, communication, IT, and some portering duties. There is a need for the successful candidate to be able to multi-task, work well within a team and have a flexible approach to their working site and hours. The service is provided over 7 days and the core opening hours of the department are between 8am to 6pm.

The post holder needs to be flexible to be able to work any shift of up to 10 hours within the opening hours depending upon service need.

GCSE English and Maths are essential, along with previous employment in a similar environment/NHS/care setting.. As this role is a development of the existing ultrasound service, previous experience in this area of healthcare is desirable. Previous experience of dealing with the general public is essential, along with good communication skills, ability to work as an effective team member and good organisational and keyboard skills.

Role extension, CPD, KSF and flexible working are actively supported.
