Summary
Wood Farm Equestrian is a top class competition yard with 22 horses. They run a variety of events including monthly clear-rounds, unaffiliated show jumping competitions, combined training, and bi-weekly pole clinics.
Wood Farm offer first class livery packages, and their ethos is to put the horses needs first and offer a friendly, supportive atmosphere.
The ideal candidate will have some equine knowledge and experience but mostly have a real passion for horses and a willingness to learn and support their ethos.
This is an exciting and supportive establishment, offering a full-time role of 40 hours per week and will include working one weekend day, and having two consecutive days of - exact days and times to be discussed with employer.
This apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to learn new skills and knowledge from equine professionals and understand the needs of the industry which can be carried through your equine career.
Wood Farm Equestrian are happy to accept a L2 or L3 Equine apprentice. The apprenticeship is practical and therefore, not much time spent in a classroom. If you did not gain your GCSEs at school, we can support you with your functional skills whilst on programme. Your role here will include tasks like:
Learn about horse care
Lunge horses
Muck Out
Grooming & Clipping
Riding for exercise
There is no accommodation on site and no availability for own horse. Please ensure you consider your transport to and from the location.
To apply for this role, you must have been living in the UK for 3 years or more.
Training
All training will be provided on site during your paid
working hours. Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a
combination of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your
Haddon Training Trainer Coach.
Qualifications required
A GCSE or equivalent pass is beneficial but not essential. If you do not have passes, we will support you in achieving your Functional Skills English and Maths qualifications alongside your apprenticeship.
Skills required
A practical 'can-do' attitude happy for hard physical work in all weathers.
A motivation to learn is essential.
Some basic equine knowledge and experience is necessary.
Prospects
Progression to the Level 3 Senior Groom and/or full time employment.
