Summary
Not all heroes wear capes… some carry mops, wrangle bins, and bravely tackle mysterious stains.
We’re assembling a Caretaker Hero to join our Housing Services League. Your mission: keep our estates safe, clean, and welcoming —
and restore order wherever chaos appears (usually near the bin store). If you’ve ever thought, “I could save the day with a broom
and a bucket,” this is your moment.
Your Superpowers (Main Duties):
* Vanquish dirt and grime from communal areas using your cleaning expertise
* Battle litter and keep external spaces looking their heroic best
* Tame the bins, rotating them with strength, skill, and occasionally sheer willpower
* Conduct estate patrols with the vigilance of a guardian watching over their city block
* Respond to minor maintenance issues, fixing small problems before they become supervillains
* Travel between locations in your trusty vehicle — because while flying would be great, we do need you to have a full UK driving
licence
Super! essential Requirements:
* Cleaning experience — your trusty origin story
* A full, valid UK driving licence — your licence to hero
* Ability to work independently and think on your feet (or on your superhero boots)
* A friendly, customer‑focused attitude — even heroes smile
* Practical, hands‑on problem‑solving skill Knowledge of health & safety principles (every hero needs to respect the rules of
physics)
Apply now and become the hero our Estate Services deserve.
We offer:
* A performance based annual bonus + pension contributions matched up to 6%
* 28 days holiday + bank holidays and the option to buy/sell holiday
* Training & Development and opportunities for continuing professional development including regular tool box talks
* A great team of colleagues to work with
* Regular social and charitable events and a range of wellbeing activities
* Enhanced family leave policies
* A really competitive package of flexible employee benefits including a cycle to work scheme
* A fantastic working office environment overlooking the River Medway that’s accessible and inclusive
* Free parking and disabled parking
* Access to two holiday homes in Norfolk and Dorset
