Are you a Sports Graduate looking to build experience in a school or specialist education setting?
We are working with a group of schools in Cardiff to recruit Teaching Assistants to support pupils aged 3-19 with a range of additional learning needs.
This is a long-term opportunity to apply your coaching, communication and behavioural management skills within a structured and supportive school environment.
About the schools
These schools vary from primary secondary to special schools, working collaboratively to support pupils:
- General classroom support
- Behaviour
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Profound & Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)
- Severe and complex learning needs
- Physical disabilities and medical needs
The schools are known for their consistent routines, strong staff support and child-centred approach, with a focus on developing communication, independence and life skills.
The role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Use structured activities, movement and routine to engage learners
- Support behaviour and emotional regulation
- Assist with personal care where required (training provided)
- Work closely with teachers, therapists and ALN teams
- Build positive and consistent relationships with pupils
You will be working in a hands-on, practical role, where patience, adaptability and consistency are key.
