The SENCO Role
As SENCO, you will:
- Lead the day-to-day implementation of the school's SEND policy.
- Coordinate provision for pupils with SEND, ensuring tailored support for all learners.
- Monitor and review the quality and impact of interventions to ensure progress.
- Maintain high standards of SEND provision across all levels.
- Support teachers and teaching assistants to deliver excellent, inclusive teaching.
- Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and keep up to date with best practice.
- Lead, manage, and inspire the SEND team, setting clear expectations and objectives.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to enhance provision.
- Ensure strong communication within the SEND team and across the school.
- Liaise with external professionals to bring the best support to students.
