Summary


We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Business Officer to provide essential senior administrative support to the Group Executive and their direct reports across the Norfolk and Waveney University Hospital Group.
This is a varied and influential role at the heart of the organisation, supporting the smooth running of executive offices and governance processes. You will manage complex diaries, coordinate high level meetings, support recruitment and reporting activity, and handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Working closely with the Business Manager and wider Group administrative team, you will help ensure key deadlines are met and that senior leaders are well supported to deliver across their portfolios. You will also contribute to service improvement, policy development and effective communication with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
We are looking for someone who is adaptable, confident, and who thrives in a fast paced, high profile environment where attention to detail and strong organisational skills are essential.

The Business Officer will provide day to day administrative and clerical support to the Group Executive and their team’s, ensuring work is prioritised effectively and deadlines are met. Key responsibilities include complex diary management, coordinating internal and external meetings, preparing agendas, taking accurate minutes, and tracking actions using digital tools.
You will support preparation for key executive and governance meetings, assist with basic report writing, and provide administrative support to recruitment and ESR processes. You will act as a key point of contact for administrative matters, communicating confidently with senior leaders, clinicians, partners and external stakeholders.
The role also involves supporting service development and quality improvement initiatives, helping to implement new administrative procedures and improve ways of working. You will assist with monitoring non pay budgets, tracking expenditure, and ensuring resources are used efficiently.
You will ensure all activity complies with governance, data protection, confidentiality, health and safety and equality requirements, and support the Business Manager with complaints, incidents and risk management where required.

The Business Officer will support the Business Manager to provide essential senior administrative support to the Group Executive and their direct reports. Providing day-to-day management of administrative and clerical functions.

The role requires a dynamic and highly organised individual who can manage complex and confidential information, support governance processes, and foster effective communication between senior leaders, internal, and external stakeholders.

This role is crucial to ensuring the smooth operation of the office, meeting key deadlines, and ensuring the Group Executive are able to deliver across their portfolios. They will provide direct support and be a core member of the administrative support team for the Group Executive this will include complex diary management, administrating meetings, basic report writing and recruitment for relevant Group Executives and their direct reports.

The post holder will also play a vital role in the development and implementation of policies, handling staffing issues, and supporting various projects aimed at improving operational efficiency.
