About the role
Source Supply are currently recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a Sheffield based School that caters for Young People aged 16 to19 with severe profound and multiple learning difficulties within the Post 16 setting.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be working with young people with Special Educational Needs such as Autistic Spectrum conditions and Speech and Language difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties and behaviours that challenge. You will promote independence and supporting them within the community.

This role requires an engaging, proactive, adaptable, resilient, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with great communication skills and a want to make a difference in young people’s lives. This role would require supporting with personal care, toileting and changing.

An in date Moving and handling/hoist training certificate is desirable but not essential.

You will work as part of a dedicated and committed team that have a young centred approach in all they do. The school work tirelessly to make sure each of their pupils achieve their potential.

If you have experienced in care, as a personal assistant, respite, residential, special needs in adults or any other relevant experience you can transition into a SEND school then we want to hear from you!

Requirements
Salary is dependent on experience, qualifications and training. All successful applicants will:
- Experience in working with young people in a school or specialist setting
- A nurturing, patient and consistent approach
- Have referenceable experience working in a school, care or relevant setting.
- Be passionate about education, with a desire to help young people thrive.
- Be an excellent communicator with a positive, can-do attitude.
