Summary
Neway International are seeking ten Transit Van Drivers / Warehouse Operatives to join our client based with Wakefield Council
Location: Industrial Park, 41 Kenmore Road, Wakefield, WF2 0XE
Hours: 37 per week
Start date: 1 June 2026
Duration: 7 Weeks (Temporary)
Rate:
• PAYE: £13.50 per hour
• Limited/Umbrella: £17.77 per hour
Work pattern: Mon–Thurs 06:00–13:30, Fri 06:00–13:00 (overtime available)
About the Client
YPO is a major public‑sector procurement and logistics organisation, supplying goods and services nationwide. Their Transport team plays a key role in ensuring efficient, safe, and timely delivery operations during peak periods.
The Role
The Transit Van Driver / Warehouse Operative will support YPO’s transport and warehouse functions during a busy operational period. The role involves a mix of driving duties and warehouse tasks, ensuring goods are picked, loaded, delivered, and handled safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out multi‑drop deliveries using a Transit‑sized vehicle.
Complete vehicle checks and operate safely in line with regulations.
Assist with warehouse duties including picking, packing, loading, and stock movement.
Maintain accurate delivery records and follow route instructions.
Work collaboratively with the transport and warehouse teams to meet service targets.
Candidate Requirements
Minimum C1 licence.
Valid driving licence and driver card.
In‑date Driver Qualification Card (DQC).
No more than 6 penalty points.
Experience in multi‑drop delivery and/or warehouse operations desirable.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work early shifts.
Strong awareness of health and safety and safe manual handling practices.
