Full and Part-time opportunities

We are looking to recruit professional, efficient and confidential Coordinators to provide an administrative service to the Wiltshire Breast Screening Programme and the Breast Centre Outpatient Service as part of the multi-disciplinary team.

Accurate inputting of screening and symptomatic information into the dedicated systems is of paramount importance. Following National Health Service guidelines and unit policies to ensure the right patient pathway is adhered to for clients attending for imaging.

Following National Health Service Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP) and Quality Assurance (QA) guidelines, together with local unit policies, ensure the right results are sent to women attending for mammography.

1. Accurate interpretation of information to the NHSBSP computer system whilst following ‘Right Result’ policies and procedures. Ensure all ladies receive the right result within the designated timescales. This requires frequent prolonged periods of concentration, sitting at a PC for a substantial proportion of time.

2. Arranging and rearranging appointments on a variety of clinics and software systems including appointments for clients with disabilities, recalled to assessment following screening, known cancer patients and those referred by GPs. Ensuring final results letters are sent out in a timely manner by means of the NBSS system. Assisting with the specification of batches.

3. Preparation and management of assessment clinics to meet NHSBSP deadlines. This includes contacting ladies being recalled to an assessment clinic. Due to the sensitive nature of these calls particular reassurance skills are required. To prepare and attend twice weekly Multi disciplinary team meetings to obtain data for breast referral patients and to ensure pathology reporting forms are completed accurately by pathologists.

We are proud to be part of BSW Hospitals Group – a formal partnership between Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust and Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. With a combined workforce of over 17, 600 colleagues, and budget of 1.6 billion the Group is united by a common purpose to deliver the best possible care to over 1 million people.

We are creating a health and care system that works with the people we care for, reducing the differences people currently face in access, experience and outcomes, improving the experience of our colleagues and tackling shared challenges like sustainability and finances. Every improvement we make across our Group will be guided by what creates the greatest benefit for our colleagues, our patients, our communities and our partners.

4. Preparation and management of symptomatic and outpatient clinics using the Choose and Book system, Medway and ICE software systems. Liaising with various disciplines and departments in order to achieve an efficient running of the Breast Centre service and ensure cancer targets are met. Input clinical reports onto the hospital system. Co-ordinate appointments for patients coming in for pre-op procedures. A high standard of medical terminology and the ability to deal with complex phraseology is required over prolonged periods of concentration.

5. To facilitate the running of follow up care for known cancer patients with strong family history. Liaise with ladies and other departments to ensure MRI is offered where appropriate and making sure right result is obtained in a timely manner.

6. Monthly audit of departmental work instructions and procedures checking they correspond accordingly and reporting any discrepancies to the Programme Manager. This may involve visiting mobile unit sites in the community.
