Summary
Barts Health Pharmacy Department has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic pharmacist to join us as aSpecialist Pharmacist for Medicine at Newham University Hospital. Barts Health NHS Trust is one of the largest and busiest trusts in the UK, delivering care across multiple sites in East London.
This post offers the opportunity to work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver and develop a high-quality clinical pharmacy service within the Medicines division. You will provide senior clinical leadership, support medicines optimisation and safe transitions of care, and contribute to service development, governance and quality improvement.
You will join a supportive and integrated pharmacy team committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. The successful candidate will have access to education and development opportunities, with support and mentorship from senior clinicians within Pharmacy and across other disciplines.
The post holder will carry out the full range of duties as the Specialist Pharmacist in Medicine to deliver patient focused, quality care, based at the Newham University Hospital.
To promote the responsible, safe and cost-effective prescribing of medicines within medicine to optimise clinical outcomes, minimise adverse reactions and improve medicines safety. The post holder will be supporting the Lead Pharmacist in leading a team of staff in the delivery of high quality clinical pharmacy.
They will support the Lead Pharmacist in managing the professional, clinical and technical input of pharmacy into Medicine directorates at Newham University Hospital. They will help deliver the broader medicines optimisation and governance strategy across the Trust. These outcomes will be achieved primarily through leadership of clinical staff, and the publication and implementation of guidelines and procedures to encourage best practice.
