Summary

Hours of Work:Full time or part time considered Salary: £12.71 per hour REPORTS TO: Operational Manager and Digital Transformation Lead We are looking for a reliable Clinical Coder to join our coding team at our busy GP surgery in Dorking; however, there is a plan in place for upscale working for Dorking Healthcare GP Federation (DHC) in the future. This role is an important part of ensuring patient records are accurate, up to date and coded correctly to support safe clinical care and practice reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with the clinical and administrative teams to review patient correspondence and update records using the appropriate clinical codes. Full training on our clinical systems will be provided, and you will be supported by experienced colleagues as you become familiar with our processes. Key Responsibilities Reviewing hospital letters, clinical correspondence and documents, including those of private patients whose care is managed by our tenants. Accurately coding diagnoses, procedures and relevant information into patient records Ensuring medical records are kept accurate and up to date Identifying and updating relevant clinical information from incoming correspondence Filing and work flowing documents where appropriate Liaising with clinicians and administrative staff when clarification is required Maintaining strict patient confidentiality at all times If you have a keen eye for detail and enjoy working with structured, accurate information, this role is perfect for you. Health & Safety: The post-holder will assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others health, safety and security as defined in the practice Health & Safety Policy, the practice Health & Safety Manual, and the practice Infection Control policy and published procedures. This will include: Using personal security systems within the workplace according to Practice and Centre guidelines. Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks. Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills. Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards. Actively reporting of health and safety hazards and infection hazards immediately when recognised. Keeping own work areas and general/patient areas generally clean, assisting in the maintenance of general standards of cleanliness consistent with the scope of the job holders role. Reporting potential risks identified.
