Summary

The post would suit an individual aiming to pursue a career in Old Age Psychiatry who wishes to develop an interest in teaching. The successful candidate will be involved in co- ordinating and providing the undergraduate clinical teaching programme (5 sessions per week perannual average) and will undertake 5 sessions of clinical duties and professional development. The main clinical duties include the support of inpatients and there will also be the opportunity to carry out some outpatient work and home visits. There are no on-call commitments to the post This post will be supervised by Dr Simon Davidson, Consultant Psychiatrist. Ideally the successful candidate will have completed Foundation Training (or the equivalent) as well as Core Psychiatry training. Specialty doctors are also encouraged to apply. This post is ideal for individuals with are studying towards their CASC exam, or someone who have already achieved this qualification.The post includes the opportunity to undertake a formal qualification in Medical Education (Certificate or Diploma) during their employment within the Trust with an assigned provider. Any formal qualification will be undertaken during the year of employment within the Trust and is subject to a financial cap (international applicants may not be eligible for this fundingand if wishing to pursue a qualification, this may need to be funded personally.
