Hours: 37.5 per week | Monday to Friday | 8.00am – 4.00pm
Salary: £23,660.62 per annum (not pro rata)

About the Role

As a Learning Outside the Classroom Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging, therapeutic, and purposeful outdoor learning experiences for pupils at Reddish Hall School. Many of our pupils have significant SEMH needs and may have faced challenges in previous educational environments. Through hands-on, structured, and supportive outdoor activities, you will help pupils build confidence, develop social and emotional skills, and experience success beyond the classroom. Your work will directly contribute to improving wellbeing, behaviour, and lifelong learning skills.

Key Responsibilities

Outdoor Education Delivery

Work collaboratively with the Learning Outside the Classroom Lead and the Pupil Enrichment & Experiential Lead to plan, deliver, and evaluate high‑quality outdoor learning experiences.
Facilitate a range of physical and outdoor activities throughout the year, in all weather conditions.
Contribute to the delivery of small‑group or 1:1 intervention sessions using outdoor learning approaches (such as Forest School or therapeutic activities) to support pupils with specific SEMH, behavioural, or social needs.
Monitor, record, and report on pupil engagement, progress, and outcomes.
Maintain, organise, and oversee outdoor education equipment and resources to ensure safe and effective use.
Pupil Support and Engagement

Support pupils in line with the school’s ethos and the SEN Code of Practice, ensuring their needs are understood and met.
Build positive, nurturing, and trusting relationships with pupils to promote emotional safety and engagement.
Model positive behaviour and support emotional and behavioural regulation using trauma‑informed approaches.
Promote inclusion, independence, and resilience, encouraging pupils to participate fully in activities.
Assist in implementing individual behaviour support strategies tailored to pupil needs.
About You

GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above, or ability to demonstrate equivalent skills
Strong spoken and written English
Passion for supporting children with additional needs
Calm, compassionate, proactive approach
Strong teamwork and communication skills
