Crynodeb
We are looking for a full time, experienced time-served mechanic to join our team to assist with the maintenance of our fleet of over 100 Mini Buses, mainly comprising of Renault Master & Vauxhall Movano vans that have been converted for special needs transport. This role offers an excellent opportunity
for a proactive person to grow within an expanding business and to work with a great team.
Some out of hours working may be required to cover vehicle breakdowns and recovery, these events are not common and are shared amongst our team. Attending vehicle breakdowns out of hours is paid as overtime.
Working hours: 40 hours Core Hours: 8am-5pm Monday to Friday (Overtime Available)
Holidays: Statutory Allowance
Rates of Pay: £30-40,000 per annum negotiable subject to qualifications, experience and successful completion of a 3-month trial period
Duties:
· Service and Repair of Vehicles/Plant items to comply with statutory regulations in line with the Andrew Wallbank Ltd Operators License.
· Service and Repair of Vehicles/Plant items to manufacturers recommendations as set out in the DVSA Guide to Maintaining Road Worthiness.
· Inspecting and Preparing Vehicles to DVSA test standards, LOLER and PUWER.
· Use of Specialised Equipment in association with the repair of repair and maintenance of vehicles
· Use of computer diagnostic equipment to assist with fault finding and the repair of faults/breakdowns
· Supervision, Training & Mentoring of apprentices and junior mechanics
· Mainly working within our vehicle workshops and occasionally outside on live highways in the event vehicle breakdowns
Essential Criteria
NVQ Level 3 In Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
Minimum 3 years time-served experience in the following:
Vehicle service and repair
Inspection and preparation of vehicles to be presented for test
Full UK Drivers Licence essential
Vehicle Diagnostic Skills
Good communication skills
Commitment to Health and Safety / Company Polices
Commitment to undertaking additional training(internal/external)
Ability to multi task, and work on own initiative
Ability to follow and carry out instructions
Participate in Out of Hours Service Vehicle Recovery and Vehicle Breakdowns (overtime applies)
Desirable Skills
Skills in the following fields are an advantage, however not essential.
Auto Electrical Skills
MIG Welding / fabrication
Ability to Drive 7.5t Recovery truck and experience in vehicle recovery
for a proactive person to grow within an expanding business and to work with a great team.
