A welcoming primary school in Oldham is looking to appoint a SEN Learning Support Assistant to join their team. This is a great opportunity to work closely with pupils who need additional support, helping them build confidence, develop skills, and access learning in a way that works for them.
You'll be working across Key Stages 1 and 2, supporting children both academically and emotionally as part of a supportive and collaborative school environment.
In this role, you'll play a key part in day-to-day classroom support.
You will:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs
• Support children with communication, social, and emotional development
• Help deliver adapted activities and targeted interventions
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
• Support pupils in building independence and confidence
• Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and wider staff team
• Contribute to a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Your support will help pupils feel secure and able to take part fully in school life.
We're looking for someone who:
• Has experience supporting children in an SEN or school setting
• Understands the importance of inclusive and adaptable support strategies
• Communicates clearly and works well as part of a team
• Is patient, empathetic, and proactive in their approach
• Can adapt to meet the needs of different pupils
• Is genuinely passionate about supporting children's development and wellbeing
• Competitive daily rate of £95-£110
