We are seeking an experienced Data Developer (Back-End) to support ISS’s transformation as we modernise our data estate and adopt cloud-first technologies.
You will play a key role in developing and maintaining data ingestion pipelines across our Medallion Architecture and ensuring high-quality, reliable data for business insight and performance measurement.
Job Description
We are looking for someone with strong production-level experience in Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server, and SSIS who can work independently, handle complex datasets, and contribute to the mobilisation of new contracts.
This role supports both legacy Insight@ISS data warehouse components and the development of new modern data solutions across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain data pipelines using Databricks and Microsoft Fabric.
Support the existing UK Data Warehouse, including SQL Server components and SSIS packages.
Design and develop database objects such as views, stored procedures and scripts.
Integrate data from multiple global and UK-based systems.
Ensure data ingestion follows Medallion Architecture principles (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
Support and enhance data models used for reporting and analytics.
Participate in new contract mobilisation activities by providing analysis, data preparation and integration support.
Work collaboratively with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Ensure accuracy, quality and reliability of datasets used for business insight.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Knowledge and experience of ETL/ELT processes and ability to deal with a variety of data sources.
Experience using Databricks and Microsoft Fabric.
Proficiency in SQL Server and SQL/T-SQL stored procedures.
Experience developing and maintaining SSIS packages.
Python scripting skills.
Strong understanding of complex datasets including relational databases and analysis services.
Experience working in a small team with the ability to work on own initiative.
Ability to articulate complex data models or analysis outcomes in non-technical terms.
