About the Role
We are looking for compassionate and reliable Waking Night Care Assistants to join a care team supporting an 18-year-old male living at home with his parents, sister, and family dog in Swindon.
This is a rewarding opportunity to provide dedicated overnight care and ensure the client’s comfort, safety, and wellbeing throughout the night in a family home environment.
Shift Pattern: 9:00pm – 9:00am (Monday–Friday & Sunday) | 9:00pm – 8:00am (Saturday). We are looking for a team of 6 care assistants to support this client, on a 3 week rolling rota (1 in 3 weekends requirement)
About the Client
The client is an 18-year-old male with the following medical conditions:
Global Developmental Delay
Hypertonia
Epilepsy
Sleep Apnoea
He requires attentive overnight support to manage his medical needs and maintain a safe, comfortable night routine.
Key Responsibilities
Administering medication via PEG feed
Seizure management and monitoring
Moving and handling using a ceiling track hoist
Supporting the client into bed and with repositioning
Monitoring oxygen saturation levels during the night
Supporting ventilation via CPAP due to sleep apnoea
Providing personal care and continence care as required
Maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns
What We’re Looking For in the suitable Care Assistant:
Previous experience in complex care or healthcare support is preferred
Experience with PEG feeding, epilepsy/seizure management, and hoisting is desirable (training may be provided)
Calm, attentive, and reliable during overnight shifts
Ability to follow care plans and clinical guidance
Compassionate approach to supporting young people with complex needs
