We are seeking a reliable and supportive Personal Assistant (PA) to work with a Deaf young person who is 16 years old & who is autistic.
£12.40 p/h (negotiable for the right candidate with BSL qualifications).
Hours:
• Total hours per week: 6 hours per week (2 x 3 hour sessions)
• Preferred days/times: Ideally weekends to be arranged with Employer
• Some flexibility may be required and offered by mutual agreement
Role Overview:
The PA will provide 1:1 support, including:
• Support with communication and daily activities
• Accompanying the young person on outings and social activities
• Supporting independence and confidence in community settings
• Activities may take place at home and in local community settings
Essential Requirements:
• British Sign Language (BSL) – minimum Level 3
• Strong deaf awareness
• Experience working with Deaf people (professionally or personally)
Desirable:
• Access to a car and ability to drive
Pay:
• Pay rate to be negotiated, depending on experience
