Summary
Job Title: Live-in Nanny / Housekeeper
Location: North East England - Chester Le Street Durham
Salary: £500 per week (live-in, accommodation included)
Annual Salary: £26,000 (based on 52 weeks, pro-rated if unpaid leave is taken)
Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable, caring, and organised Live-in Nanny / Housekeeper to support with the care of one school-aged child (6 years old) alongside light household duties.
This is a blended role combining before- and after-school childcare with daily housekeeping responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Childcare Duties
Morning routine: preparing breakfast, getting the child ready for school
School drop-off (8:30am) and pick-up (2:30pm)
After-school care until 6:30pm, including:
Preparing snacks and dinner
Organising activities and playtime
Bath time and evening wind-down
Housekeeping Duties (approx. 2 hours per day flexible)
General tidying and upkeep of the home
Laundry and ironing (primarily child-related, unless agreed otherwise)
Hoovering and maintaining clean living spaces
Basic meal preparation
Working Hours
Morning: 7:00am – 8:30am
Midday housekeeping: 2 hours per day (flexible timing)
Afternoon/Evening: 2:30pm – 6:30pm
FULL DBS CHECK REQUIRED
Total: approximately 7.5 hours/day
Weekly hours: approximately 37.5 hours (Monday–Friday)
Days off: 2 per week (to be agreed, typically weekends or split as convenient)
Accommodation
Private bedroom provided
Live-in arrangement required
Ideal Candidate
Experience in childcare (nannying, childcare settings, or similar)
Understanding of Autism as this little boy is pre-verbal Autistic
Warm, patient, and engaging with children
Organised and proactive with household tasks
Reliable and able to manage responsibilities independently
Full UK driving licence and access to a car (required for school runs local to family home)
Additional Information
This role combines childcare and light housekeeping; it is not a full cleaning position
Occasional flexibility or babysitting may be discussed in advance
