I am an elderly lady in Merthyr area with a diagnosis of dementia. I am looking for a Personal Assistant to work with me for 20 hours per week. I need assistance in the mornings to wash and dress, change my pad and give food and drinks.
I would also like to access the local community as this helps me relax. I use a wheelchair when out and would like to access local activities such as going shopping, to the café and anything available in arts and crafts.
**Tasks and Duties **
Provide company to feel safe at home.
Personal duties, washing, changing pads, help and prompt toileting.
Preparing meals
To assist me in social activities within the community.
To plan with me activities that encourage my development of personal safety.

**Working Hours / Pay of Rate**

**Rate of Pay** : £15.50 per hour with 40 pence per mile mileage
**Hours: ** Total 20 hours per week
For example, 2pm-5om on Mondays (3 hours) and 8.30am to 5pm on Tuesdays and Fridays. There is flexibility for the right candidate.
**Type of Person Required **
Over 18 years of age
A car driver with their own vehicle
A calm patient person who will be supportive and reassuring. Ideally someone who understands dementia and the repetitive and sometimes anxious behavior.
A patient, caring person who will put her at ease
A person who is dependable and arrives on time.
A person with a positive commitment to this kind of work
We have pets at home friendly, two dogs and a cat so please note for any allergies.
**Training**
Full training will be provided by service user and family.
**About The job**
Salary Frequency Calendar Monthly.
Successful applicant will be subject to a three-month trial period.
Applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS police check at no cost to yourself.
