Summary
The Role
The role of Technical Officer within the Planning Service offers a varied and interesting workload which combines administrative
skill with technical understanding. We process planning applications and manage enquiries for the Planning Enforcement, Heritage
and Tree teams; liaise with customers; and maintain records digitally.
The successful candidate will be interested in the local built environment and may bring some previous experience in a
planning-based role or be willing to learn the basic legislation, technical knowledge and plan reading skills required.

We are seeking a highly motivated and positive individual to join our small, friendly team.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work in an efficient manner to
statutory timescales. The work demands a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
Computer literacy is a key skill in this role; we would expect you to be proficient in Microsoft Word and any previous knowledge
of Salesforce based software would be an asset.
Ideally you will be familiar with working in an office and be prepared to deliver a high level of customer service. Working in a
team with flexibility and enthusiasm are essential.
