Are you the right person for the job?
• Registered Building Inspector – Class 2A (non-negotiable)
• Confident in plan checking and site inspections
• Strong organisational, record-keeping, and time-management skills
• Excellent communication and people skills for stakeholder liaison
• Able to work independently and manage a daily inspection schedule
• Full driving licence and able to travel locally (approx. 7–8 inspections per day)
What will your role look like?
• Undertake plan checking for building control submissions in line with regulations
• Carry out site inspections across an allocated area, including Class 2A surveillance work
• Liaise regularly with structural engineers, contractors, and internal teams (within standard working hours only)
• Maintain accurate records and reports using our database system (AIP)
• Focus on technical inspection work alongside associated reporting and administrative responsibilities
• Manage your workload, inspection schedule, and projects autonomously while meeting targets
• Ensure all work complies with BICOF guidance and regulatory standards
• Travel is regionally focused and tailored to your location for efficiency
