Summary

Assistant Restaurant Manager
Location: Grantham

Hours: Full-Time
Hours Per Week: 40 - Including Weekends
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager with a passion for great food, exceptional service, and smooth daily operations. You will support the Restaurant Manager in running the business, taking responsibility for overseeing staff, managing rotas, maintaining stock levels, placing orders, and ensuring consistent coffee standards. This hands-on role requires strong organisational skills, good communication, and proven experience in managing a successful restaurant or kitchen. You will handle escalated customer queries, oversee tills and cash procedures, and play an active part in training and developing the team. Enthusiasm and a proactive approach to driving the business forward are essential, and you will also perform full managerial duties in the Restaurant Manager’s absence, ensuring the restaurant operates efficiently at all times.
Candidate needs to have experience as an Assistant Manager

Duties Include:
Organising team schedules and handling staff issues
Interviewing, hiring and training new employees
Evaluating employee performance and providing training and guidance as required
Stock rotation and ordering
Food hygiene
Menu planning
Cash handling
Maintaining excellent standards of guest service.
To establish and maintain the highest standards of hygiene and Health & Safety in accordance with all statutory, legal and company requirements.

Requirements of the Role:
Previous experience working in a busy hospitality venue
Thorough understanding of allergens and food safety
Excellent communication skills and able to work as part of a team
Strong IT & communication skills
Flexible in terms of days and hours worked to meet business demands
Solid leadership qualities with an ability to engage with a large team to drive service and standards
Knowledge of HACCP
Professionalism and reliability
Remains calm under pressure
Good time management
Level 2 basic food hygiene
