Summary

A Vacancy at East London NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the diverse London borough of Tower Hamlets. The post is based across two sites: Acute inpatient services (Roman Ward- female and Lea Ward- male) based at the Tower Hamlets Centre for Mental Health at Mile End Hospital and the Isle of Dogs Neighbourhood Mental Health Team (NMHT). This post has become available as the previous doctor left the post. The service base is mainly on the wards and this is very central to the borough with good bus and Tube connections. The NMHT is based in the Isle of Dogs, E14.

We are looking for an enthusiastic psychiatrist, with experience in General Adult Psychiatry as SAS level to join the team and the mental health services in the borough.

8 Programmed Activities per week will be devoted to Direct Clinical Care. The Specialty Doctor will work under the supervision of the consultant. They will:

· Work within a multidisciplinary setting offering psychiatric-medical input in the assessment, treatment and care management of the patients.

· Will adhere to the clinical lead model of service and principle of holistic care.

· Provide appropriate cross-cover for colleagues.

· Adhere to all service conditions and local policies.

Clinical work will mainly entail comprehensive medical assessments that include history taking, mental and physical evaluation, and biopsychosocial formulations. Other duties might involve diagnostic and treatment reviews and mental and physical treatment administration. Attendance to MHRT as appropriate and supervised by the RC may be required from time to time and a good knowledge of the MHA (2007) is required.

Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.
