Summary
We are looking for an inspiring Nursery Manager who can create an environment where every child feels a true sense of belonging and every staff member feels valued, nurtured, and supported to reach their full potential. As Nursery Manager, you will lead the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care, learning, and safety for all children. You will support, guide, and motivate the staff team, helping them grow professionally while maintaining a positive and collaborative culture. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone passionate, organised, and dedicated to creating a warm and inclusive early years setting.
Responsibilities
Provide strong leadership to ensure the nursery operates to the highest standards of care, education, and safeguarding.
Create a welcoming, nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and have a strong sense of belonging.
Support, mentor, and develop the staff team through effective supervision, coaching, and performance management.
Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including Ofsted and EYFS.
Build strong relationships with children, families, and external professionals.
Oversee planning, observations, and assessments to ensure high-quality learning experiences.
Manage nursery budgets, resources, and staffing levels efficiently.
Promote a positive, inclusive culture that celebrates children’s individuality and supports staff wellbeing.
Skills
Level 3 or above in Early Years Education/Childcare (Higher or Degree desirable).
Proven leadership experience within an early years setting.
Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements.
Excellent communication, organisational, and people-management skills.
A warm, inspiring, and child-centred approach.
