North Bristol NHS Trust employs over 12,000 staff providing healthcare to the residents of Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset from our award-winning hospital building at Southmead. We are the regional Major Trauma Centre, and an internationally recognized center of excellence in a range of services and major specialties and we are part of the Bristol NHS Group.

Recognized as the Best UK Employer of the Year for Nursing Staff at the Nursing Times Workforce Summit and Awards 2025, our vision is that by enabling our teams to be the best that they can be, we will provide exceptional healthcare, personally delivered.

North Bristol NHS Trust values all people as individuals. We aim to be an anti-discriminatory organization and are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. We welcome applicants from all underrepresented groups.

Housekeeping involves a large amount of essential but often invisible work. Cleaning cupboards, shelves, and trolleys; keeping pantries organised; restocking PPE; maintaining the nutritional drinks fridge; and decluttering the ward all require continuity and time. These tasks only become noticeable when they stop being done, which is why they must be protected within the daily workload. Housekeepers support the clinical team by taking responsibility for the non-clinical routines that allow nurses and HCAs to devote time to patient care.
