This HNW family are seeking a warm, capable, and experienced Mother’s Help to join a friendly and well-run private household. This is a varied, hands-on role supporting a busy family with three school-aged children (7, 4 and 3 years old), combining high-quality childcare with practical household assistance.
This position would suit an experienced nanny-housekeeper or mother’s help who genuinely enjoys being involved in all aspects of family life — someone who is confident with children, flexible in their approach, and happy to turn their hand to whatever support is most helpful on the day. While childcare is the priority, the role naturally shifts to household and family support during school hours. This role is full-time, 60 hours per week (typical schedule Monday–Friday, 7:15am – 7:15pm, with flexibility on weekends. Start times may differ during school holidays and offers a salary of £18-£20 gross an hour depending on experience.
The successful candidate will work closely with a hands-on mother and alongside other household staff, contributing to a calm, organised, and happy home environment. A polished and presentable appearance always is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Childcare & Family Support (Primary Focus)
• Providing attentive, nurturing care for three children, supporting their routines and wellbeing
• School drop-offs and pick-ups, and supervision of after-school activities when required
• Assisting with homework, reading, and age-appropriate learning activities
• Encouraging social, creative, and physical development through play and structured activities
• Supporting mealtimes, bath time, and evening routines as needed
• Acting as a reliable extra pair of hands for the mother, particularly during busy periods
Household Support (During School Hours)
• Assisting with light housekeeping and supporting the housekeeper as required
• Helping with meal preparation and simple family cooking
• Keeping communal areas tidy and organised
• Running errands, shopping, and ad-hoc family tasks
• Helping with children’s laundry, wardrobes, and general organisation
General
• Working collaboratively with the mother and wider household team
• Maintaining a calm, proactive, and positive presence within the home
• Occasional pet support (family dog) if required
The Ideal Candidate
• Proven experience in a similar Mother’s Help, Nanny-Housekeeper, or hybrid role
• Confident and genuinely comfortable caring for school-aged children
• Practical, adaptable, and happy to support both childcare and household needs
• Warm, approachable personality with a professional and discreet manner
• Organised, proactive, and able to take initiative
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Flexible and reliable, with a can-do attitude
• Driving licence essential
Schedule & Benefits
• Full-time, 60 hours per week (typical schedule Monday–Friday, 7:15am – 7:15pm, with flexibility on weekends. Start times may differ during school holidays)
• Salary: £18-£20 gross an hour (negotiable DOE)
• Travel opportunities with the family, up to 6 weeks per year
