We are looking for a dedicated and resilient Physical Education (PE) Teacher to join The PRIDE Academy, working with young people who have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to making a positive impact on students’ wellbeing, confidence and personal development. You will play a key role in delivering engaging, adaptive PE lessons within a safe and supportive environment, helping students develop physical skills, teamwork and a lifelong appreciation for health and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated PE lessons that meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH profiles.
• Create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment that promotes positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Use assessment and progress data to inform teaching, set personalised targets and track student development.
• Contribute to the development of a broad and inclusive PE curriculum, including extracurricular and enrichment activities.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, pastoral teams and external professionals to support individual student needs.
Key Requirements:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a degree in Physical Education or a related subject.
• Experience teaching PE and supporting students with challenging behaviour or additional needs.
• Strong understanding of SEMH needs, inclusive teaching strategies and behaviour management approaches.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families.
• Resilient, empathetic and adaptable, with a commitment to safeguarding and ongoing professional development.
