What we need:
Due to the continued expansion of the Academy and its learning support offer,we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our team in the Specialised Learning Centre (SLC). The role of the SLC is to ensure that all students achieve their potential and any barriers to learning are identified and supported. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be required to work with the SLC team to enhance the education of our students, provide support to students in the classroom, both in groups and on a one-to-one basis, and have a flexible approach to be able to respond to the changing needs of our students.
The ability to work flexibly across all age groups and subject areas, and the confidence to deal with challenging behaviours is essential for this role.
The ability to offer First Aid support or to be willing to undertake First Aid training would be desirable. Previous experience of working with children with special educational needs is desirable, but not essential.

- Minimum of GCSE English and Maths or equivalent qualification
- Good working knowledge of ICT
- High expectations of students to enable motivation and challenge
- Ability to multi-task, be flexible and resourceful
- A positive, ‘can do’ attitude
- An existing First Aid qualification or a willingness to train
