Summary

Job Title: Production Shift Manager

Location: Aldridge Walsall Building

Working hours: 4 on 4 off 12 hour shifts 6am-6pm/6pm-6am

Pay: negotiable depending on experience

About the role: We are recruiting a hands-on Production Shift Manager for a leading building products manufacturer. You will run shift operations, deliver production targets, drive safety and quality compliance, and lead continuous improvement. This is a leadership role with clear responsibility for people, performance and process improvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Communicate and promote Company, Factory and team plans; translate those plans into focused shift actions to achieve defined objectives.
  • Lead, motivate and develop the shift team through structured performance reviews, coaching and clear accountability to ensure delivery of targets.
  • drive continuous improvement across production, quality and efficiency.
  • Implement and enforce Company and Factory control procedures to maintain compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality statutory requirements.
  • Collect, assimilate and analyse production and process data; use insight to set priorities, drive corrective actions and achieve KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain systems and standards for world-class housekeeping using 5S principles.
  • Manage procurement of production materials, goods and services within defined areas to support uninterrupted production.
  • Collaborate effectively with maintenance, engineering, planning and other departments to resolve issues and meet operational objectives.

Essential qualifications & experience

  • Proven track record in a continuous manufacturing environment at this level or above.
  • High degree of self-motivation with the ability to self-manage and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Strong focus on achieving targets and deadlines with demonstrable organisational skills.
  • Leadership and people management experience; ability to build, motivate, develop and improve teams.
  • Experience applying structured problem solving techniques to resolve production issues.
  • Ability to communicate and work collaboratively across all departments and levels of the business.
