Hays are working with a reputable non-profit sector organisation in the North East to recruit an experienced procurement expert to join their friendly team. You'll be joining a large and well-established organisation with a strong regional presence and a clear social purpose.
Your new role
As Procurement Officer, you will manage a varied portfolio of procurement projects, ensuring value for money, compliance with PA23 and relevant legislation, and continuous improvement in processes and delivery. The role will include:
- Providing expert procurement support across the organisation
- Leading and managing end-to-end procurement activities under PA23
- Supporting tender processes including market engagement, documentation, and evaluation
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Driving best practice, compliance, and innovation within procurement
What you'll need to succeed
Essential:
- Proven experience in public-sector or not-for-profit sector procurement
- Experience managing tender processes end-to-end, including market engagement, contract drafting, and evaluation
- Knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Desirable:
- A CIPS qualification (or working towards)
- Familiarity with e-procurement systems (e.g. In-Tend or similar platforms)
