Company Overview
Our client is an established specialist provider in the construction and engineering sector, operating from Oldham and serving a diverse range of project needs within the industry. They are part of a group of niche companies focused on delivering technical services such as working at height solutions, height safety compliance/maintenance and lightning protection.
They are seeking a Yard and Stores Coordinator to manage the day-to-day running of their yard, stores, plant, and equipment, ensuring everything is ready, compliant, and available to support site operations.
This is a hands-on role combining stock control, logistics coordination, equipment management, and compliance.

Requirements
Essential
• Experience in a yard, stores, depot, or logistics role
• Knowledge of plant, tools, and equipment management
• Strong organisation and attention to detail
• Previous experience in rope access, scaffolding, work-at-height, lifting operations, or similar safety-critical environments
• Strong understanding of equipment compliance, including LOLER and PUWER
• The ability to manage a busy yard/store environment in a hands-on role
• Qualified or experienced in LOLER inspections
• Full UK driving licence
• Forklift licence
• Confident using IT systems for asset tracking and record-keeping
• IOSH Managing Safely or similar health & safety qualification
• Meticulous and disciplined character, treating the Yard and Stores as a “showcase”
• Excellent communication skills

• IRATA knowledge
The Role
• Take ownership of all aspects of the day-to-day running of the yard and stores
• Ensure cleanliness, tidiness, and compliance are maintained continuously
• Strive for continuous improvement and embrace new systems and software to maximise efficiency
• Keyholder, responsible for opening and closing the building
• Coordinate dispatch and returns of plant, tools, materials, and PPE
• Manage goods in/out and maintain accurate stock and asset records
• Ensure equipment is tested, certified, and compliant (LOLER/PUWER)
• Organise servicing, inspections, and maintenance of plant and fleet
• Monitor stock levels and support cost-effective purchasing
• Maintain a safe, organised yard and stores environment
• Support audits, compliance, and operational teams
