Summary

We are seeking to employ a Behaviour Support Manager to join our wider Pastoral Team, from September 2026.
Nailsea School is looking to appoint a Behaviour Support Manager to support our students making the right behaviour choices and to be supported in changing their behaviour when required.The successful candidate must have a passion for working with young people to support them to embody our core expectations of being ‘Ready, Respectful and Responsible’. You will have responsibility for supervising and coordinating the implementation and delivery of the school’s Internal Reflection room, as a core part of the school’s behaviour management procedures, ultimately reducing the number of students excluded from school and supporting in the maintenance of a productive learning environment for all. You will work with other team members and leaders in being ‘On Call’ throughout the week, responding to incidents throughout the day and being proactive in supporting students to change noticed patterns of behaviour.
You will have the presence, experience and personality to manage, supervise, challenge and motivate students. This role forms a core part of the school’s pastoral team and you will need to work closely with students, other school colleagues and parents/carers. As an individual, you will be motivated, positive, have a flexible and calm approach and be able to respond to the needs of the individuals you are working with.
This post is a non-teaching role.The successful candidate will need to:Be educated to GCSE Level or equivalentHave experience of working with students of secondary school age, formulating positive working relationships with staff, students and parents.Have experience of using general school systems, such as BromcomEffectively work independently and as part of a teamBe able to prioritise in the busy environment of a secondary schoolPossess excellent communication skills Have a calm demeanour and positive attitude, in a sometimes emotionally challenging environmentWe can offer you:
