Summary

Job OverviewBiggin Hill Primary School is looking to appoint a caring, supportive and dedicated Achievement Support Assistant. The role will be classroom based and will involve supervising and caring for pupils with social, emotional and challenging behavioural needs across the school. Salary & Contract DetailsHours: 31 hours per week, term time only (includes 1 hour each week to run an after school club)
Grade: 4, spinal column points 7-9
Salary: £18,598 - £19,197 actual salary per annum
Contract: Fixed-Term - This contract is linked to Educational Health and Care Plan funding for named pupils and will end when the funding ceases.Job RequirementsThe successful candidate will:
Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence.Supervise and provide particular support for individuals and groups of pupils, including those with SEN, disabilities, personal needs, EAL ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.Promote good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with school procedures and encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour.
Support the academic, social, emotional and development of individuals and groups of pupils understanding clearly how pupils learn.
Provide effective support to maximise attainment and accelerate the progress of individuals and groups of pupils.Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education / Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes when necessary.
Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress towards academic, social, behavioural and learning skills.
Liaise closely with appropriate staff in relation to safeguarding, behaviour, SEND needs and wellbeing issues.Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ attainment, progress, behaviour and attitudes to learning.Further information regarding the post can be found in the job description and person specification.Why choose Biggin Hill?
