We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled hip and knee orthopaedic consultant with a specialist interest in the management of trauma and reconstruction. UHS is also looking for experience in managing MSK tumour referrals and to work with Mr Datta as part of a local group that can coordinate the management of both primary MSK tumours (investigations and referrals) and metastatic bone disease.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic multidisciplinary team, providing expert clinical care, surgical interventions, and ongoing management for patients presenting with complex orthopaedic conditions, including major trauma injuries.

The consultant will deliver high-quality orthopaedic care to patients with hip and knee pathology. They will also have to provide general trauma surgery, as part of their on-call activities. They will lead and participate in specialised clinics dedicated to trauma and elective assessment, treatment planning, and post-operative follow-up. This position also requires contributing to teaching, training, and research within the orthopaedic department, fostering innovation and evidence-based practice.

You should possess FRCS (Orth) or an equivalent qualification, with registration or eligibility for registration with the GMC. Substantial experience in both elective and non-elective hip and knee surgery is requiredboth elective and non-elective hip and knee surgery is required.
