About the Role
We are looking for a Freelance Vocational Tutor – IT & ICT to deliver structured, high-quality digital learning. You will teach accredited IT and ICT qualifications that prepare learners for modern workplaces and further study.This is a purposeful teaching role with clear hours, defined standards and measurable outcomes.

Your role is to turn everyday digital tools into real employability skills. You will help learners build confidence with common software, online communication, digital safety and basic technical skills. Success looks like learners who can use IT responsibly and confidently in real jobs.
Environment / Working Conditions
- Location: centre-based delivery in Belfast
- This is not a home-based role
- Structured timetable, clear attendance and punctuality expectations
- Set curriculum and compliance requirements
What You Will Do
- Plan and deliver engaging IT and ICT lessons
- Teach accredited vocational IT/ICT qualifications at appropriate levels
- Cover topics such as office software, online communication, digital safety and basic problem solving
- Prepare learners for assessment and digital tasks in real workplaces
- Support progression into further digital learning, apprenticeships or employment
- Maintain strong learner engagement and manage classroom behaviour
- Keep accurate registers, assessment records and learner files
- Work with colleagues to meet performance, quality and compliance targets

- Link digital content to local labour market needs and real job roles
- Use examples from workplaces to show how IT is used in administration, customer service and other roles
- Represent Get Set UK professionally with partners and stakeholders
What Makes Someone Successful Here
You will succeed if you are digitally confident, structured and reliable. You can explain IT in simple, accessible language and keep learners on task.You are comfortable with a clear curriculum, defined timetable and accountability for attendance, outcomes and records.
What You Will Bring
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in IT, ICT or a closely related digital subject
- PGCE, CIT or recognised teaching qualification, or willingness to start the CIT within two years of appointment
- Experience teaching, training or supporting others with IT or digital skills
- Ability to plan, differentiate and assess learning for mixed abilities
- Strong organisation and classroom management skills
- Clear communication and a supportive, no-nonsense style
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and data protection
- Confidence using digital tools for both teaching and administration
A Day in the Role
Your day begins with checking your lesson plan, login details and resources. You arrive early to ensure equipment is working and learners can access what they need. In the classroom, you set expectations and walk learners through structured tasks, linking each skill to a real workplace example. You circulate, support individuals and keep the group focused. After the session, you complete registers, back up records, mark work where needed and plan the next lesson. The role is structured, technical and highly impactful when you see learners lose their fear of IT.
