The Role

As a Metal Dresser / Finishing Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring all fabricated and machined components are finished to the highest possible standards prior to dispatch or further processing.

Key responsibilities include:

- Dressing and finishing metal components to both customer and internal standards

- Removing sharp edges, burrs, weld spatter, and surface defects

- Using hand tools, grinders, linishersand polishing equipment

- Carrying out bright polishing, graining, and satin finishing

- Preparing components for painting, coating, or assembly

- Conducting visual and dimensional inspections to ensure quality compliance

- Working from engineering drawings and job specifications

- Supporting production flow and meeting deadlines

- Adhering to all health and safety procedures

The Person

- Previous experience in metal dressing, fabrication finishing, or a similar role

- Experience working with stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminium

- Competent in the use of hand tools and finishing equipment (e.g. grinders, linishers)

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

- Good work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop
