Summary

What will your day look like?


We are seeking an Independent Reviewing Officer who is a registered qualified and experienced Social Worker.


You will undertake child in care reviews and monitor the progress of children’s plans, to ensure the best outcomes and permanency for children. Within this you will engage with children to ensure that their voice is promoted to contribute to their plans along with their family.


The role includes a quality assurance function where you will monitor through audit and case tracking the progression of children’s plans to support our corporate parenting responsibilities.


As part of our team, you will be supported with compassionate, relational practice to help you thrive in your Independent Reviewing Officer role.



Who are we looking for?


We are seeking a dynamic, motivated, and experienced professional who is:


A qualified social worker registered with Social Work England
Able to demonstrate at least five years post‑qualifying experience in statutory children’s social care
Have a thorough working knowledge of children in care, care leavers, safeguarding and child protection, fostering and adoption processes and procedures
Confident in chairing reviews, managing conflict, and producing clear, proportionate decisions and recommendations.
You will bring strong professional judgement, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to improving outcomes for children.
