Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our fantastic Portering and Security Team at Broomfield Hospital as we expand our high‑quality, patient‑focused service.

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable individuals who are passionate about making a difference to the experience of our patients, visitors and staff.

These roles offer great flexibility, with a variety of shifts available—including nights and weekends—and we welcome applications for both full‑time and part‑time positions.

While previous experience in a hospital portering or security role is an advantage, it is not essential. Full training and ongoing support will be provided to ensure you feel confident and valued in your role.

Respond to all work requests promptly and efficiently, liaising with ward and department staff whilst maintaining active awareness of security risks throughout the duration of duty.

Ensure that all ad-hoc work, e.g moving furniture, equipment is carried out following the Trust manual handling procedures.

Transporting patients to and from ward and departments. Assisting staff in patient transfer from beds, trolleys and wheelchairs whilst ensuring that their comfort and dignity are maintained. All movements must be in accordance with Trust moving and handling policy.

Maintain an awareness of appropriate Trust and local policies and

To comply with all Trust's Policies and Procedures including Health and Safety and attend training sessions as prescribed or agreed through staff appraisals.

Provide a timely and effective post room service, sorting and delivering post as required.

To carry out routine waste collection as required.

Provide assistance on site to members of the public, staff and contractors wishing to park on site.

To ensure compliance with all Trust policies and procedures relevant to the area of work.

Maintain high levels of confidentiality and information security at all times, complying with the relevant legislation such as the Data Protection Act and the Computer Misuse Act.
