Please see below for detailed job description of the role.

Are you a compassionate and motivated nurse ready to begin your career in neonatal care?
Or are you an experienced nurse looking for a new challenge? Now is the perfect time to join our supportive and dynamic Neonatal Unit at Southampton General Hospital.
We are offering trainee positions for nurses who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of premature and unwell newborns. As a Band 5 Trainee Neonatal Nurse, you will receive the training, support, and development needed to become Qualified in Specialty (QIS), building the knowledge and confidence to deliver high-quality, family-centred care.
This is a fantastic development opportunity to start or transition into a neonatal nursing career. As a trainee, you will benefit from a full induction programme and a structured preceptorship, supported by our dedicated Education Team. You'll work alongside skilled neonatal nurses and neonatologists in delivering care across special care, high dependency, and intensive care settings.

What We Offer:
• A tailored preceptorship programme specific to neonatal care
• Support to complete the QIS (Qualified in Specialty) Neonatal Course after gaining suitable experience
• Access to regular simulation and clinical skills training
• Protected learning time and ongoing mentorship
• A friendly, inclusive, and team-focused environment

We believe that using technology wisely shows strong time management and commitment to innovation. However, personalizing your recruitment application to highlight your unique skills and experiences is crucial. Relying too heavily on generic, AI-generated content instead of drawing from your own strengths and accomplishments may lead to your application being rejected if multiple candidates present identical or similar information.
