Summary

Are you caring, patient and passionate about making a difference in a child's life? We are looking for a dedicated Personal Assistant to support a 5 year old child with Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy. (You will be employed directly by the family of the person who needs care and support)

As a Personal Assistant, you will work directly with the young person and their family supporting with tasks which could include help with communication and social interaction, physical tasks and everyday activities designed to be fun and meaningful experiences.

Experience with young children desirable. Previous work with disabilities an advantage but neither are necessary as additional online training will be provided. Training will be given, if required, in areas such as Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities, and Manual Handling amongst other relevant courses. A full enhanced DBS check will be required prior to starting with any family and will be provided.

As a Personal Assistant, you are likely to be involved in many aspects of your employers life and may be asked to support in the home, at leisure or at work. The opportunity to focus directly on the needs of the individual and the diversity of the role is what often attracts people to this type of work.

What we are looking for

Someone kind, friendly and reliable who is willing to transport the young person to and from appointments during the week with some weekend flexibility once a relationship is established.

Minimum required age of applicants is 17 years, must be eligible to work in the UK and ideally live in Halton and the surrounding boroughs.

Hours available - 3 hours per week to initially be used supporting the young person to and from appointments for example - Collecting from school, taking to their appointment and then taking them back to school afterwards.

Salary - £12.21 per hour

A driver with their own means of transport is essential for this role
