Summary
Prepping and polishing of Motor vehicles
Key responsibilities
Ensure customer satisfaction in the repair of motor vehicles of all types.
Carry out such work in a safe and economical manner.
Observe, recognise and report on vehicle structure and paintwork.
Interpret and implement technical instruction data.
Indent for replacement parts and record usage.
Accurately use paint mixing schemes and drying areas/equipment.
Ensure that vehicles comply with safety standards when returned to customers, or that faults have been reported and noted on job card.
Attain manufacturers' and/or estimated repair/paint times.
Report all faults, defects noticed whilst working on vehicles.
Take care of equipment, special tools and personal tools.
Accurately report all components, materials and consumables used.
Safeguard the customers' vehicle and contents whilst being repaired.
Ensure that all work carried out meets acceptable safety and quality standards.
Company repair/paint times to be achieved.
Hours, components, materials and consumables used recorded.
Wastage of materials not to exceed target set by Manager for period.
No customer vehicle or contents to be damaged/lost while vehicles under repair.
Assigned apprentice to have completed training schedule for day/week.

Skills and experience
Good Communication skills.

Good H&S knowledge/awareness and compliance.
Time served repair technician.
