Insurance, Pensions and Investments (IP&I) are on an exciting journey. At the heart of our plan is a digital 'waterfront' embedded within our existing apps. It shows what tomorrow looks like for our customers and the steps they can take now to future-proof their finances.

As we digitise our services and become data-led, harnessing insights and innovating with AI, our Data Risk profile becomes increasingly complex.

The Data & Digital Risk Team in IP&I Risk requires a highly motivated Senior Manager, leading Data & Digital Risk Oversight and assisting the business in making fast, accurate decisions by providing independent oversight and constructive challenge.

You will also contribute to the Data & Digital Risk Oversight Strategy by anticipating emerging and future threats, regulatory changes, and technology trends. Help develop the way we identify, assess, manage, and monitor our Data Risk, providing input to Internal Governance, Risk Management, and Reporting processes.

What you'll be doing:

  • Define Risk Appetite and Tolerance for IP&I

  • Provide sound and insightful advice to Risk and Control Owners

  • Undertake proactive Risk Oversight and Continuous Monitoring of IP&I Data & Digital

  • Monitor & Oversee Data & Digital Risk Management activity

  • Understand the Legal and Regulatory implications for Data & Digital in IP&I

  • Produce MI and Analysis of risk, emerging trends, risk and loss events

  • Enable Transparency and Visibility, providing a forward-looking view of Data & Digital Risk to inform executive decisions

  • Leading a team of Risk Managers, working collaboratively with other Risk Specialists to support Risk Owners

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years experience of Data & Digital Risk Oversight

  • In depth knowledge and understanding of Data & Digital Risk including;

    • Data Architecture, Data Management, Data Operations and Data Governance, including familiarity with standard frameworks such as DAMA, EDMC etc.

    • Cloud data environments including Data Governance and Continuous Control

    • Data consumption to enable AI and associated technologies

    • Continuous Control Monitoring (telemetry) for scaled data environments

  • Proven leadership and stakeholder management experience, shaping risk appetite and influencing senior decision making

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts for senior stakeholders and produce high-quality written outputs

  • Strong organisational skills with a track record of driving transformation and continuous improvements

And any of these would be great:

  • Experience in UK Financial Services, Insurance, Pensions and/or Investment

  • Experience oversighting control automation for Data & Digital

  • Experience of Platform Concepts and Agile working practices

  • Experience managing large-scale data enterprises and intricate data ecosystems, including those supplied by external vendors
