Rated ’Good’ in the 2025 Ofsted Inspection, we offer high quality education for children aged 3 and 4 years old. New Mills Nursery School is a teacher-led Local Authority school offering high quality Early Years Education for children aged 3 and 4 years old. We aim to provide a wealth of exciting learning opportunities to give children the very best start to their educational journey.

Due to the current Headteacher’s well-deserved retirement the pupils, staff and Governors are looking for an enthusiastic Headteacher to build on the strength of our school story so far and to continue our journey. We would like to appoint a collaborative leader who is also a strategic thinker with an eye to the future.

Just a short distance from Stockport and Manchester, while sitting on the doorstep of the Peak District National Park, New Mills offers an attractive balance of countryside living and urban connectivity—making it an inspiring and well‑connected place to live and work. There is parking and it is short walk to the railway station.

Candidates will:

• Demonstrate inspirational leadership and management
• Possess skills and expertise to continue to develop the highest standards of teaching and learning including SEND
• Be approachable, caring, and have integrity
• Possess a good knowledge of EYFS play based and child led learning
