Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

Recent successful teaching or teaching practice at KS3 and KS4 Science with the willingness and ability to teach ‘A’ Level.

Experience of teaching ‘A’ Level.

Good working knowledge of basic scientific principles.

Thorough understanding of National Curriculum and how it relates to assessment.

Knowledge of and enthusiasm for tutor work.

Interest in the 11-18 age range.

Interest in student centred teaching methods.

Capability and willingness to teach to A level.

High expectations of oneself and of students.

A commitment to and interest in the wellbeing, support and achievement of students.

A sense of excitement about teaching and working with young people.

Energy and enthusiasm.

A belief in teamwork and co-operation with adults and students.

A willingness to challenge oneself to seek continuous improvement.
