Looking for a precision role with a growing industry leader?

We are a rapidly expanding manufacturing business in Wolverhampton, and we are looking for a skilled Machine Shop Operator/Setter to join our team. If you take pride in your craft, thrive in a fast-paced CNC environment, and want a role that offers both stability and a great work-life balance, we want to hear from you.

The Role: Precision in Motion

As our newest Operator/Setter, you will be a key guardian of our production quality, ensuring our CNC Lathes and Machining Centres are running at peak performance.

Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Setting & Operating: Managing CNC Lathes, Machining Centres, and some conventional machinery to achieve cycle times and high-quality standards.
  • Quality Mastery: Performing rigorous dimensional checks using verniers, micrometres, and gauges against technical drawings.
  • Process Ownership: Reporting equipment failings, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring 5S standards are maintained.
  • Workflow Management: Coordinating with stores for daily booking-in and ensuring a seamless flow of completed parts.

What We’re Looking For

We need a detail-oriented professional who understands that in precision machining, every millimetre counts.

  • CNC Experience: Proven background in setting up and operating CNC machinery.
  • System Knowledge: Previous experience with Mazak systems is highly preferred, though we welcome skilled operators from various backgrounds.
  • The Technical Eye: Ability to read dimensional drawings and record precise measurements on check sheets.
  • Safety & Quality: A commitment to H&S standards and 5S housekeeping (knowledge of safe brass handling is a plus).
  • Team Spirit: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a busy team.

Why Join Us?

  • Work-Life Balance: Enjoy a 1:00 PM finish every Friday.
  • Competitive Pay: We offer a negotiable salary based on your specific experience level.
  • Growth & Stability: Join a company with a full order book and genuine opportunities for career progression.
  • Clean Environment: Work in a safe, well-organised, and modern shop floor.
