The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide vital support to students who may face barriers to learning. Working closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team, you will help create a calm, structured, and engaging classroom environment where every student can thrive.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Supporting students with SEMH needs in both group and 1:1 settings
• Assisting teachers in delivering engaging lessons
• Helping implement behaviour management strategies & positive reinforcement
• Supporting students in developing confidence, social skills, and independence
• Supervising and supporting students during breaks and transitions
• Assisting with administrative and classroom tasks as needed
About You : The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for individuals who are patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.
You should:
• Have previous experience working with children or young people (experience in SEMH or SEN settings is highly desirable).
• Be patient, empathetic, and confident in supporting a range of behaviours and abilities.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be adaptable, proactive, and committed to helping students succeed.
