Oakfield Short Stay School is Leicestershire’s provision for primary and secondary school aged children who are at risk, or who have been permanently excluded from school. You will be part of a vital team in an exciting period of development, working with us to meet the needs of children and young people in the Primary phase who struggle to manage in mainstream and need a different offer of education to secure their successful next steps.
About the Role
This role is to ensure the provision of efficient and effective administrative support for the day-to-day operation at our south primary school, planning and managing your own workload in order to meet deadlines. The role would suit an experienced and suitably qualified person who has experience of using data systems and reports within an education setting, particularly within the Special Education sector. Many of our young people present with challenging behaviour, and we are looking for someone who can demonstrate strong empathy and ability to intrinsically connect with pupils with complex SEMH needs and lead in delivering a service that enables flexible data systems that capture pupils progress against their starting points.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and Inspire: To maintain office software, carrying out system upgrades and year-end procedures on information management systems in accordance with published guidance (e.g. from LEAMIS)
Collaborate with Agencies: To provide a courteous reception and visitor management service, responding directly to general enquiries, and ensuring that visitors are welcomed and managed in accordance with established health and safety / child protection procedures.
Accountability: To deal with written correspondence in an effective manner, sorting and distributing incoming post and replying to e-mails in a timely manner. To carry out finance Procurement tasks and attendance in line with school policies and procedures.
Promote Inclusion: Demonstrate a commitment to inclusion, ensuring all pupils and staff members feel valued and supported.

Level 2 qualifications in Maths/Numeracy and English/literacy. A Level 3 qualification in business and administration, or evidence of equivalent experience.
Experience of working in a school environment, carrying out a range of administrative tasks.
Experience of carrying out basic financial procedures, including cash handling.
Experience of working in a school office meeting the needs of the service.
Some supervisory experience.
Experience of using information management systems and finance software.
Experience using MIS; Management Information Systems and FMS; Finance Management Systems would be beneficial.
